Month-end cycle

Initiate month-end close from the GL dashboard — the system validates all sub-ledger reconciliations (AP, AR, FA), processes accrual recommendations from AI (spec 9.4), and flags unposted journal entries before period lock.

Period & Year-End Management (spec 1.3) provides a structured close checklist. Module-level period controls let AP close independently from AR. AI Automated Journal Entry Suggestions (spec 9.4) propose accrual entries with confidence scores based on historical patterns — reducing manual JEs by 70%. RPA (spec 9.5) handles recurring entries, depreciation runs, and inter-fund transfers automatically. Every close action is logged to the immutable audit trail (spec 7.4).

Reconcile

Bank & sub-ledger

Bank Reconciliation (spec 1.8) auto-matches imported bank statements to GL entries by amount, date, and reference. Outstanding cheques and deposits-in-transit are flagged. Multi-bank support covers operating, payroll, trust, and investment accounts.

Import bank statements in CSV, OFX, or MT940 format. The auto-matching engine resolves routine items instantly — staff focus only on unmatched exceptions. Sub-ledger-to-GL reconciliation confirms AP sub-ledger, AR sub-ledger, and Fixed Asset sub-ledger tie to their respective GL control accounts. Any discrepancies surface as reconciliation exceptions with drilldown to individual transactions.

PSAB financials

Generate consolidated financial statements per PSAB — trial balance, statement of financial position, statement of operations, change in net financial assets, and cash flows. Budget-to-actual variance analysis with drill-down to individual transactions.

Financial Consolidation & Reporting (spec 1.5) produces all required PSAB statements from a single click. Year-over-year comparisons, budget-to-actual variances, and trend analysis are built in. For municipalities with ABCs, Consolidated Financial Statements (spec 11.4) handle inter-entity eliminations per PSAB PS 2500. Export to Excel, PDF, and XBRL formats for auditors and provincial filing.

FIR Auto-Generation (spec 11.1) maps GL data to all Ontario FIR schedules — Schedule 10, 12, 40, 51, 70, 80, and supplementary schedules. Validation rules flag data quality issues before submission. Year-over-year variance highlighting for Treasurer review.

The FIR Generator (spec 1.6) uses configurable COA-to-FIR mapping tables to auto-populate every schedule. Cross-schedule validation catches inconsistencies — e.g., Schedule 51 TCA balances must reconcile to the asset register. Material variances from prior year are flagged for explanation. The entire FIR prep cycle drops from 8 weeks to ≤2 weeks, with zero manual data re-entry from GL to FIR.

AI cash flow

Predictive Cash Flow Forecasting (spec 9.2) projects daily, weekly, and monthly cash position using historical patterns, tax collection schedules, grant drawdowns, and committed expenditures. What-if modelling for emergency spending scenarios.

The AI-powered Treasury Dashboard provides 30/60/90-day cash outlook with minimum balance alerts and borrowing requirement projections. What-if scenarios model delayed tax collections, accelerated capital spending, or new grant revenue. Cash investment optimization recommendations maximize interest earnings on surplus balances. The Treasurer sees the full picture — committed POs, outstanding AP, expected AR collections, and reserve fund balances — in a single view.

Auto-generated financial reports in council-ready format — quarterly financial updates, annual financial statements, budget variance explanations, and performance-based budget reports linking spending to outcomes.

Performance-Based Budgeting (spec 11.3) links every dollar to a strategic plan objective with KPIs per program. Council-ready reports show what the municipality achieved for each dollar spent — cost per lane-km maintained, cost per recreation participant, response time per bylaw complaint. Public Budget Visualization (spec 11.2) provides resident-facing transparency. The Treasurer presents with confidence, knowing every figure traces back to the GL.
